With 6 petals inventory expanding, there's a definite need for more surface area in the studio. There are some amazing vintage goods getting ready for their debut in the shop this week + lots of handmade ideas drawn out and being put to production mode.
This image of Erin's (of Design For Mankind) office had me dreaming about a perfect shelf.
I found a light colored piece of lumber in a perfect size at the hardware store. I also picked up a few simple, metal brackets, and spray painted them the same color as the silverware. I didn't even bother painting the wood-- all natural. Then we hung it up (J helped). I love the minimalist look of the shelf, especially considering I'm going to fill it up...quickly.
That's the beauty of hardware stores-- so many options. I may not have purchased the "right" equipment for the job, but couldn't be happier with my shelf and it works for me.
P.S. I added a few items yesterday and tweeted. Follow along to be the first to hear.

::outta town + a moving sale::
Remember when I said I had some exciting news? It's true, if you think moving to Virginia is exciting.
I do!
I do!
I've been hinting about it on Twitter and doing what I can to prepare. We're filling up J's covered trailer and packing our cars to head north-ish the end of this month. June is absolutely flying by. We've been spending most of this month having some lots of fun skydiving, exploring, camping and visiting family and friends all over Florida. Most of my family is here, which means we'll be back often.

The thought of moving out of state away from my family is rough, but I'm also eager to set out on this new adventure {I'll always be a Floridian at heart}. Of course, the actually move is never fun. So, we'll be making a stop at the cabin in Gatlinburg, TN for the 4th of July to spend some time in the Smoky Mountains.
Any Virginia bloggers out there?
With exciting news come MORE exciting news. 6 petals {the shop} is having a MOVING SALE. Now's the time to get your hands on the vintage goodies you've been eyeing. It doesn't hurt to look.

::a winking owl and curious crab::
Alright ladies, any exciting plans this weekend?
I scored same major deals at the thrift stores this week. Did you see this tweet about my new Burberry button-down? And, a lined, black and white chevron-patterned skirt + a few pretty vintage tins-- my favorite things for storing knick-knacks. I'll be spending the weekend with J as he competes in his first sprint triathlon. After, we're eating some crawfish at a local festival, skydiving from 15,000ft. and relaxing to live music by night.
