::DIY clothing rack::

On Saturday, I'm doing my first antique show in Virginia. I'll be showing off much of my collection: restyled furniture, vintage home decor, antique goods, vintage dresses + bags, handmade jewelry and wall art. There's lots of unique stuff that hasn't been listed in the shop (yet).

I've been needing a clothing rack to display the dresses and I found a great idea here to do it myself. Yesterday J and I gathered all the supplies at the hardware store and started building. It's all various metal plumbing/piping supplies. Some pieces we couldn't find in black iron, so we went with galvanized steel. The mix-matched looks pretty cool. We set it up outside and it's just perfect. The industrial look is exactly what I wanted. Plus, it's slim and sturdy. Here's the assembly process...

::tiny tree::

Since Jay and I are squeezing more than two people should have into a smaller space, this idea from Jen is a perfect alternative to a full Christmas tree-- and still have that pine tree scent. You can do it too with the the right jars. Get your own from the 6 petals shop with this amazing pair of crocks. I love the type on those guys.

Bring it on, December.

ENJOY 26% OFF

I hope you're enjoying a loooong weekend with friends + family. Just wanted to pop in to announce a birthweek sale in the shop (because birthdays should be celebrated for at least a week) and I'm extending my birthday discount to you.

I'm sure you can find a little vintage something with your name on it in the shop.

::just a preview::

I'm eager to get these amazing items in the shop. Although, my camera repair was rejected due to "intense water damage." There is a tiny bit of good. Canon has a loyalty program where you send in an old/broken piece of equipment and essentially get half off the same (refurbished) item. Beats buying a full-priced camera I suppose.

::to dye for::

When it comes to hair, I have a few go-to hair styles: low ponytail, high messy bun, air dried waves (curling as it dries with my fingers), and a straight blow dry. Remember this post? Let's just say I'm a novice. I add little things here and there-- mainly a scarf, flower or barrette. Head scarves are one of my favorites, it's easy and incorporates pretty patterns and color. I love this hand-dyed voodoo scarf from hazel & hunter.

what's YOUR go-to hair do?

::shop update // lovely metals::

Some unique, metal trinkets made their way into the shop

In my opinion, metal looks so much better with age {a vintage vulture would say that about most materials}. These items are no exception. A fire engine red lantern, a copper clipboard from Virginia and a neat tray trio that folds up, too! I can just imagine the tray trio holding jewelry, cupcakes or as a display for fresh-picked flowers.

p.s. I usually tweet when I'm listing items, so you can follow along to be the first to know.

::shop update // fresh vintage treasures::

Fresh vintage treasures just hit the shop. All the randomness you love from 6 petals: more owl love {check out that winking owl cookie jar}, a brass crab with a secret compartment, and a bread box, of course!

::irbw // swim::

I can't remember the last time I wore a one-piece, but Anthropologie has me adding them to my spring/summer wish list-- and they're pretty as ever. I love these two {among others in their collection, like this one}. Clean, feminine, geometric lines and hello! that plunging neckline is so sleek. The weather's a balmy 92 degrees, and all I want to be wearing is one of these beauties {an iced cocktail in-hand wouldn't be bad either}.

Cheers to a lovely weekend, friends!

Oh, and don't forget the 6 petals shop Spring-ish Sale is "blooming" until April 16th...

::see you tomorrow::

The sun's a-shinin' today. Around noon yesterday the sky was black and hurricane force winds blew in. After feeling a little like Dorothy, a couple tornadoes littered the streets with debris and a couple hundred-year-old oak trees were uprooted. I arrived home to no power, which meant a trip to J's for wine and movie night.

On the bright side, the weather looks great for the weekend. I'll be setting up shop Downtown for the monthly Main Street Market Day. The park will be filled with fresh produce, handmade soap, baked goods, plants and herbs, local artist, and yours truly. Come say hi!
