::girls night::

A few of us got together to wine and dine...with arts and crafts time, too. Here are the girls hard at work making their own version of 6 petals vintage toy block photo holders.

Perfect to hold photos, business cards, table card settings, and recipe cards. These handmade, one-of-a-kind blocks will be available for sale in the shop soon! {Not the blocks the girls made, of course. Those are priceless.}

And, while you're here, take an extra second and follow 6 petals on Blogger/Google Friend Connect, Bloglovin', and Facebook. Because, you know, you gotta stay updated :)

::busy bee::

The month of October seems to be flying by! There are so many great things happening, however, I feel like it's happening too fast. Where's the pause button?? I want to make sure I soak it all in. And, on top of it all, the weather has been beautiful here in the Sunshine State. The kind of weather that asks you to have a picnic under a tall oak tree (with the red and white gingham blanket, of course!)

With moving into a new apartment (Emily and Michelle know the joys of packing), creating new things, and exciting events for 6 petals (recaps here and here), I feel like such a busy bee...

I hope everyone is having a lovely October. Any ideas for Halloween costumes? (Not that I'm ready for it...)

::recap: psc's fallfest::

6 petals spent this past Saturday at Polk State College's 23rd Annual Fallfest. With an estimated 10,000 visitors, this event is a full day of crafts, kid's activities, and local demonstrations on the campus. I was excited to show off some new items. After setting up the booth, the day started. Shopper and vendors had been lining the walkways for long before the "official" 9am start. A special thanks to everyone who visited 6 petals at Fallfest.

Here are some pictures from the day:

I also took some shots of Fallfest's Best Dressed shoppers! Luckily, they didn't object after I chased them down with a camera :)

You can't tell from the picture, but she had the cutest sushi hair barrette, and I love the cuffed jean and flats

Looking so cute with baby in tow...gray booties and a earth-toned scarf perfect for Fall

Seriously loving her style...and his too! Lovely shoulder bag, olive green sneakers (and scarf to match) add a great pop of color to the blue ensemble.

...maybe not Best Dressed, but who can resist an adorable puppy?

::watch this...or this watch::

I'd like to give myself a pat on the back for my limited spending this month. And by "give myself a pat on the back " I mean I want to buy this watch.

A co-worked emailed me this Gadget Lab article from WIRED Magazine. I immediately fell in complete lust. I have to have it ("as much you need a hole in the head" I can hear my Dad in the background). Not only is it a hand-crafted piece of wooden art, but each purchase plants a tree.
See...

In other exciting news, 6 petals will be setting up at Winter Haven Market Day. This is a new event (this Saturday will be the 2nd gathering) and I'm excited and jittery about this new venture. I'll be displaying handmade jewelry, home decorations, art, and vintage items. In preperation, I needed to finalize a new business card. Here's the look...and the new logo.

I always love feedback, so fire away {I haven't sent it to the printer yet} :) I'll upload some inventory photos as I get ready for Market Day.

Have a lovely Friday.

Finally. After much anticipation, your first true glimpse of 6petals-- and there's still so much more. I've taken some time to play around with Blogger and I'm now utilizing Google Picasa web albums to upload my photos. It also offers a great storage facility for all my images.

The online store will be up shortly*. Sorry for the delay you guys, but life happens. Bachelorette parties, birthdays, and my day job really gets in the way of things :)

I'm so happy to be sharing this with everyone. Thanks for stopping by!

*In case anyone is interested in any of the items, feel free to leave me a comment for now with your email address.
