::inspired by // the poor porker::

When I saw this post on Tomboy Style and watched the video I was amazed that little Lakeland, Florida was mentioned. That's where I went to college (and where I met Jay). It's a town filled with character, rich in Florida oranges and, for me, a place where many memories were made.

I wish I was still around to visit The Poor Porker at the local market for a hot, fresh beignet (I've never had one, but how can fried dough sprinkled with sugar be bad? AND bacon?!). Robyn and Jarrid have such a brave story about a cross-country move to start their business. And now their pastries are selling like hot cakes (had to).

I'm always a fan of people who turn trash into treasure, just look what this duo did with an old hutch they found in the dumpster! Oh, and Robyn's thrifted style is pretty impeccable. Check out The Poor Porker blog to see Robyn and Jarrid's awesome recipes, travels and how their thrifting and hand-crafting a unique home.

::blog love // everyday musings::

Most of the blogs I'm drawn to have beautiful photography that captures all the pretty, little details that many people may overlook each day: reflections, side roads, even beer garnish. Olivia's blog, Everyday Musings, does just that. And, I just love her simple blog branding.

::tiny details::

Old Brand New was one of the first blogs on my radar. It's where I heard the term vintage vulture. Dabito photographs just about everything and his images are always so clean and professional. The shots from his home capture all the little details that make it so unique: his collection of vintage trinkets, flag-shaped molding on the wall and a white-dipped nightstand. Not only are the details in his home, I love seeing the little changes he makes on the design of his blog. His new logo is a graphic treat. While you're there, check out his print shop!

::easy treat::

I saw this and immediately wanted to try it. Head on over to Whitney's blog for the recipe. She takes great photos and I envy her use of white space all over-- so clean, simple + well done.

::it's the little things::

Who knew that little pieces of fabric could look so perfect. I love how Miss James decorated for her daughter's birthday.

::get the look::

I spotted the oh-so-pretty Claire of De Lune rocking a beautiful (and pricy) Rebecca Minkoff shoulder bag. It looked awfully familiar. Luckily, you can get the look for a heck of a lot less. Oh, and that scarf she's wearing-- she just found a square of fabric at the thrift store. I want her whole outfit...plus the fuchsia lipstick.

::irbw // rawr::

I know. It just looks like a bunch of letters in that post title, but I does mean something, I promise. It's been a while since my last 'I'd rather be wearing.' Today it's definitely jeans and an easy top. I wouldn't have come up with this button up + striped layer combo, but Rebecca works magic. I love how natural she is. Friday would be better in an outfit like this. She also makes me miss my long hair because I want to put a bun on top of my head.

::she's got style // emerson fry::

I know I'm joining the club with this one, but Emerson of EmersonMade. is that girl with amazing style + adventurous personality + business savvy to the max. You can't help but want to be friends with her. Ever since I saw her fabric flower bows and signature tee's a while back, I find myself constantly adding her pieces to my wish list (my birthday is in 2 weeks- hint, hint).

Take a look at this amazing sneak peek into her perfectly decorated Farmhouse. I love the glass light fixtures + vintage accents. It's all simply beautiful.

If you haven't developed a crush yet, you will after reading this interview.

::irbw // karla's cape::

THIS, friends, is a bright one. Although her vintage dress collection is outta this world, this vintage silk embroidered cape is so eye-catching. Karla, of Karla's Closet, is bold and not afraid of color with her eclectic style. And, she pulls it off in the most glamourous way. I'm drawn to her blog because we have similar body shapes, so I love seeing how she makes things work.

::heel yes::

Check out this awesome DIY from Geneva at a pair & a spare-- she's a DIY fashion guru. Such a fun way to add color to your feet.

This is on my to-do list. What's on yours?

::a strong bond::

I had to share these amazing mother + daughter shots of Paige and her little girl from Pilgrims. Her photos are always breathtaking and she makes gorgeous handmade totes.

This weekend, J and I are heading back to Florida for moving trip #2. Flying in and driving back in a good ol' U-haul (with a boat on the hitch...should be interesting). Luckily though, I'll get to see my family. It's been less than a month since I've been in VA, but I miss my momma.

::irbw // ikat skirt + nude::

Lucy Laucht is always classy, and she sure knows how to rock a skirt {her collection is mighty impressive}. I love her classic and feminie style + her fun pattern play. Ikat is a total win in my book. This look is a perfect mix: lovely chaotic blend of colors, high waist, thin belt and a nude crop top. And let's not forget about the shoes.

::irbw // from b jones closet::

I've envied Beth's {of B. Jones} closet since I stumbled upon her style blog last year. I love her creative mix of modern and vintage pieces that make her style truly unique. And her outfit above is one in particular that I'd like to steal replicate. The perfect, pleated red-orange colored maxi, classic striped tank and vintage belt with an armful of pretty bangles. And, I bet she's got some beautiful peep-toes wedges under there, too. What's not to love?

::artist spotlight // rebekkah seale::

Artist Rebekkah Seale makes me want to pick up a brush and attempt watercolors. Her illustrations use the prettiest color palettes and of course, I'm partial to the nature-inspired prints. You can check out her shop and adorable blog {which just got a facelift from the super talented Katrina of Pugley Pixel}.

Happy weekend!

::no way::

So, you know how some blogs host giveaways? Well...occasionally I try one if the item truly fits my style. As a fan of Free People, and loving every page of their catalogs, I started following model Jenny Lopez's blog LopezJennyLopez. I love her breezy bohemian {life}style-- she travels to the most amazing locations and has an envy-worthy closet {you can see one of her effortlessly chic styles here}. Jenny was hosting a giveaway for a beautiful OndadeMar pareo. If I had it my way, I'd live in bikinis {I may have a slight obsession}, and cute cover-ups are a must. So, I took a chance and found out I won. This pretty much makes us friends now, right?

Now, time to plan a trip to the beach!

::score::

Dabito over at Old Brand New scored a neat little cabinet that I probably would have looked past at first glance. It's so functional and cute with its sliding, vertical post doors and skinny legs. It helps that he has the coolest thrifted trinkets to decorate and style. Love it.

::inspiration // closet visit::

Much like The Coveteur, I found another artist named Jeana Sohn who finds stylish, creative and inspirational woman to give us a view of their closet, home and belongings. She documents her photography at Closet Visit. It's something about human nature that draws me to look at other people's stuff...especially when things are beautiful, unique and inspirational {like the women themselves}.

::be free::

I found a sneak peak of the upcoming Free People catalog from Dylana's blog, Nana in Wonderland. I couldn't resist posting this picture. I love everything about this outfit {not to mention her perfectly messy blond curls}!

  • One shoulder eyelet top in pure white
  • Camel tone, cut-out wide belt
  • Flow-y, feminine polka dot shorts

And I think I need this leather fringe shoulder bag.

Hop on over to Dylana's blog to see more amazing Free People love. And while you're there, you'll be envying her style, too. Happy Thursday :)
