I took some time today to organize my home studio, which was long overdue. Somehow, new vintage items had made their way in there. Magic, I tell ya. Among the vintage shoes, antique display pieces and glass bottles, there's lots of collected paper. Vintage maps, postcards, wallpaper, journals and photos. I've always planned to do collage work, but it just hasn't taken priority. When I came across Mathilde's work, I become a bit more motivated.

Can you believe these are paintings? I love the colors and the way she makes them shine. These would make such a statement piece, blown up on a large living room wall.

If you're a regular here, you know that I'm a big fan of flowers. It's all over my Pinterest and played a large role in my branding for 6 petals. So it was love at first sight when I saw these framed florals from terrain.

They're nineteenth-century patterns that were originally on handkerchiefs. Now, they're printed on archival cotton watercolor paper in a wooden frame. Though these beauties are a bit out of my price range, I think I'll be able to recreate them using botanical prints.

At first, I thought I was looking at photographs...

Blown away by these still life paintings from Holly Farrell. The detail is incredible with the shadows, textures, and spot on colors. My favorite...those apothecary bottles down there. Too good.

I've got a weak spot for leather goods (case in point). My experience working with leather on my own is limited to a pair of leather strip earrings. Just a few snips with scissors. I'd really love to make a nice bag for my camera. Lately, I've been lugging it around in an old cosmetic bag-- shameful!

When I came across Matt's work over at Wood&Faulk my jaw dropped a little. He creates top-notch pieces using mostly wood and rich leather. There's so much craftsmanship and quality that you can see in each item he produces.

Plus, there's great gift ideas for the guys in the Wood&Faulk shop. My little brother would love that ax shield and I'd love those canvas and leather bags.

Feeling wonderfully inspired by this short video of artist Rebecca Rebouché. I love how her studio is filled with beautiful art, rustic decorative pieces and so much natural light. I mean, check out that floor to ceiling window! The best part though? That pet bunny hopping around.

The work of Banksy always makes me smile. I love his creativity and certain defiance for authority-- pushing the limit to make art speak louder than words. I hadn't seen this one before, but what a beautiful idea.

::window seating charts // ruffled::

Remember the window seating charts I created for Devon? Well, her beautiful ranch wedding was featured on Ruffled blog. The images are incredible, thanks to Stone Crandall Photography, and tons of vintage items. She and her now husband spent a year gathering old wooden crates, antique spoons and other treasures for her big day. She rallied a handful of Etsy artists to complete the finishing touches.

Get ready for more hand drawn graphics, type and personal touches because I'm already addicted. I've always wanted to create my own font!

Fell in love with these simple collage prints from Cassia's Etsy shop. When I was younger I use to make collages with magazine cutouts, ribbon/lace, wood pieces, stamps, tissue paper...all sorts of things. These days I still do.

::weekend finds // leather::

There was an awesome art festival this weekend in Ghent, a super cool area in Norfolk. I'm pretty certain I'd be content with going to art shows every weekend seeing quirky artists and their unique work. I found this incredible shoulder bag from a local leather worker and fell in love.

The woven detail is my favorite part and you can never go wrong with leather. Kelsie was there too with items from With Lavender and Lace-- which is soon to be a brick + mortar shop in Ghent. She had a vintage dress with gold studs that I took home, prefect for layering.

::treasure hunt::

I'm so inspired by places + spaces-- especially in beautifully styled homes. My favorite as of late seems to be simple white walls with a collection of rustic/vintage/industrial pieces and strategically placed pops of color and details. When I'm looking for home decor I try to make it a personal treasure hunt. Only the best gets a spot. Although, here are many treasures that I'd gladly find a spot for...

How cool is this chalk lettering from artist Dana Tanamachi?! This is one she did for room 1021 at the Ace Hotel. I love the vintage style and the look of chalk on a slate-colored background. Not to mention a great, little sayings to make you smile.

Artist Rebekkah Seale makes me want to pick up a brush and attempt watercolors. Her illustrations use the prettiest color palettes and of course, I'm partial to the nature-inspired prints.
