Our Sunshine State isn't so sunny this week. The rain was endless yesterday and the forecast calls for more of the same until Friday. It's soggy out there, so today's I'd Rather Be Wearing consists of pretty duds to keep me dry.

::give me sunshine::

Not that these really exist anymore in the "real world." I'll be participating in Spring Break-esque activities this weekend. Sun, pool, skydiving, bbq, camping and a few alcoholic beverages. I'll be wearing those Ray-Bans up there and my fav lip gloss.

Take a "break", too.

::lavender {sorta} suprise::

Remember last week when I gloated a little? Well, it arrived on my doorstep yesterday, and it made my day. Now, a tiny bikini and a trip to Fiji is all I need.

And...if you could book the tickets too, that'd be great.

::thrilling::

It's true, I've been jumping out of planes on the regular lately. It's almost as addictive as Pinterest...almost. Besides being thrilling, J is up there with me and the view is always incredible.

Have you ever been skydiving?

::irbw // from the field::

Thank you Anthropologie for putting together such perfect pairings. Feminine, rustic and ready for spring.

Footnote: Wandered into Anthro last weekend and only walked out with 1 breezy, silk top. I'm giving myself {my bank account} a high five.

::show off those heels::

How amazing is this wooden shoe ladder from Pottery Barn? I love the rustic, worn-in look, and it's a great way to show off your favorite heels, too. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for vintage {cheaper} versions to replicate in my home.

::artist spotlight // rebekkah seale::

Artist Rebekkah Seale makes me want to pick up a brush and attempt watercolors. Her illustrations use the prettiest color palettes and of course, I'm partial to the nature-inspired prints. You can check out her shop and adorable blog {which just got a facelift from the super talented Katrina of Pugley Pixel}.

Happy weekend!

::no way::

So, you know how some blogs host giveaways? Well...occasionally I try one if the item truly fits my style. As a fan of Free People, and loving every page of their catalogs, I started following model Jenny Lopez's blog LopezJennyLopez. I love her breezy bohemian {life}style-- she travels to the most amazing locations and has an envy-worthy closet {you can see one of her effortlessly chic styles here}. Jenny was hosting a giveaway for a beautiful OndadeMar pareo. If I had it my way, I'd live in bikinis {I may have a slight obsession}, and cute cover-ups are a must. So, I took a chance and found out I won. This pretty much makes us friends now, right?

Now, time to plan a trip to the beach!

::Project ReStyle // logbook::

For this ReStyle I decided to spruce up a boring logbook.

I've had this pretty, hardcover journal laying around for a while with hopes to use it as a sketchbook. It's the same size as my skydiving logbook, so...

First, I started by removing the journal pages with an X-acto knife. I wanted to make sure to keep the cranberry-colored paper inside the front and back cover.

I ran a piece of ribbon through the logbook spiral and tied it around the hardcover. I didn't trust just using the ribbon, so hot glue reinforced the hold to the binding.

...that's it!
You can check out all of my ReStyle projects here. And, in case you're new to Project ReStyle, you can join, too!

::hair-y comments & work week{end}::

Hooray for Friday! I'll be a busy bee working on various, exciting projects-- one for m.marie in particular that we can't wait to share.

Now, as this may not come as news to you beauties, I've had an epiphany.
I LOVE fancy shampoo & conditioner and it really does work wonders for my hair.

Here's the story:

My brother's finance asked my sister and I to be bridesmaids for their wedding. She gave us an amazing gift with chocolate, this shampoo and this conditioner. You guys probably remember my rant about hair, so these nice hair products were something I'd never bought for myself. I'm sure I've experienced them at the salon after handing them what felt like an entire paycheck for pretty blond highlights.

Growing up with a large family, my mom sprung for the $0.99 shampoo and conditioner because we used so much of it. I adopted the same habit into my adult life, not thinking anything of it. I mean, it cleaned my hair, right? I now know what I was missing. I finally started using these products this week and WOW, I'll never go back. {No, this isn't a plug or paid promotion for Biolage, I'm just obviously wayyy behind in the hair hygiene world!}

What shampoo/conditioner do you use?

::decorate::

This collection of items was for a different project, but I thought it should get some face-time on the good 'ol blog.

How amazing is that chair? I love all the patterns and color mixing. It's nice to have one bold piece of furniture that really pops. XOXO!

::recipe // chocolate avocado nutella::

For some reason my sweet tooth has been at it's peak. Strange beacuse I'm the girl that chooses Kettle's Sea Salt & Ground Pepper potato chips over Oreos-- give me some salt. However, I did balance it with a pistachio shake today that was oh-so-good.

Avocados? Yum
Chocolate? Yum
Hazelnuts? Yum

Though I've never thought to combine these ingredients, I can't wait to try this super simple chocolate avocado nutella recipe via the 10 cent designer. I'm thinking that the avocados will really take on the chocolate and hazelnut flavors perfectly. And, it's healthy (dairy free, gluten free and vegetarian).

I'll let you know how it is...

::irbw // neutrals + accessories::

Today, I'd rather be wearing a neutral pairing with a pretty vintage scarf (like Beatrice Valenzuela) or a floral belt + wide-brimmed hat (like model Jenny Lopez). I'd also rather be in a pretty green field or shopping in a tiny coastal village. Is that too much to ask?

::score::

Dabito over at Old Brand New scored a neat little cabinet that I probably would have looked past at first glance. It's so functional and cute with its sliding, vertical post doors and skinny legs. It helps that he has the coolest thrifted trinkets to decorate and style. Love it.
